It’s probably no surprise that our next release will be by Portland-by-way-of-California superduo Ghost Animal — we’ve been blabbing about it on Facebook and Twitter for weeks! Now, however, we are ready to announce that Ghost Animal’s Youth will be available for purchase in the beginning of December on our website. (Sweet!)
Featuring unreleased singles and b-sides, Youth will round out our releases for 2010. (Don’t worry — there’s plenty coming out the first few weeks of 2011!)
If Michael+Marisa’s dreamy noise pop tunes haven’t popped up on your radar yet, you have been seriously missing out. Settling somewhere between the dreary guitar lines of Joy Division, the fuzz of a Creation Records release and the feel-good pop vibes of the Los Angeles underground, Ghost Animal is definitely a band to get familiar with.
The band has already popped up on sites such as Altered Zones — and, for some reason, has been getting a lot of French media love! (We aren’t entirely sure what this piece says, but we can tell you it’s pretty positive — and the phrase “la catégorie noisy-pop” has to be the best thing ever written.)
