There might be a copy or two of Cowabunga Babes vs. the Zoltars at Vacation Vinyl in Silver Lake, or you can always check with the bands — but KILL/HURT HQ officially is out of our third release!
In between recording and mastering their new album (coming soon, we hear!) Pizza! released this totally amazing and inspired music video of their song, “Be a Man.” Check it out below!
The song is featured on their KILL/HURT release Bogus Rimshots from the Fourth. We have a few copies of the tape left in stock and it will not be repressed — so if you like what you hear on the video, grab the tape while you can! All copies of KH002 now come with a FREE digital download of the album.
In other Pizza! news, frontman Geoff Geis recently released a solo album, Princess, on his personal imprint Vanity Projects. The album has been getting rave reviews around town, so definitely give it a listen or pick up a copy of your own! Geoff’s voice is completely captivating in the best of ways.
Cowabunga Babes are heading on a West Coast tour in August, so make sure you catch them if they’re rolling through your town! Check out the dates below.
Several dates on the band’s routing are open and they’re looking for shows! If you can help ‘em out, please email the band ASAP!
The ‘Babes are also prepping a few new releases, including a tape with Fullerton cassette powerhouse Burger Records and a full-length LP, Going Nowhere, on Volar Records. (You can pre-order the ‘Babes LP on the Volar site, FYI.) The band was also recently featured in P+M Magazine, which is available as a free download here.

Miami’s scuzziest + trashiest girl punks, Snakehole, are prepping their August release with Kill/Hurt and the band and team KH could not be more excited. We’ve heard the tracks and they are incredible — try envisioning gothy metal punks skateboarding through the crowds of North Beach causing trouble and kicking ass, and you’ll have a pretty good idea of what KH009 will sound like.
If your imagination seems to be blanking out on you, there’s always the option of checking out the unmastered version of “Weird Dudes” off the Snakehole bandcamp. Jam out the track below!
Should your summer plans bring your through Florida, make sure to check out Snakehole at one of their upcoming shows. Keep an eye out for KH009 coming to the Kill/Hurt store in August!

Pizazz Musiq is limited to 50 hand numbered copies on hot pink cassettes and will not be repressed.
Check out a sneak preview of a track from KH006, “We Get Around” and get excited for Pizazz Musiq!
In anticipation for her upcoming 7″ single to be released on London’s Roundtable Records, Computer Magic released a snazzy, totally awesome video this morning for “The End of Time.”
This is the same track that was also featured on both editions of the Get a Job cassette! (Sorry guys, this is still sold out and we won’t be repressing it in cassette form. You may be able to snag a copy from Vacation Vinyl in Silver Lake — but we can’t make any promises! It could be gone, too!)
Check out the surreal Jesse Jenkins-directed video below and watch Danz romp around NYC in a kid-sized NASA spacesuit. It’s equal parts whimsical and disconcerting while feeling slightly post-apocalyptic in true Computer Magic fashion.
A few weeks ago, Cowabunga Babes announced the band would temporarily split due to band member relocation. Everyone assumed this would be the end of the ‘Babes — but now, there’s some good news!
Everyone’s favorite Austin (and now for some members, Los Angeles) based garage punk powerhouse will play a handful of shows at various DIY festivals up and down the West Coast this summer. Catch them if you can, because we can’t promise something like this will happen again for a while!
There’s about 10 copies of Cowabunga Babes vs. The Zoltars left in our store. We aren’t repressing this, so just like the ‘Babes’ shows, get it while you can.
COWABUNGA BABES SUMMER TOUR DATES
July 29 @ Total Trash Fest 3, San Francisco, CA
August 5-6 @ SMMR BMMR 2011, Portland, OR

Today, Los Angeles’ favorite experimental pop supergroup Pizza! posted a little video preview containing snippets of songs from the band’s upcoming album.
No word yet on when the new material is set to be released — but if the following video is any indication, we can tell it’s going to be one rad record.
If you’re lucky enough to live in or around Austin, TX, get on out to the 29th Street Ballroom to catch the very last performance of Cowabunga Babes — ever! Cassie, one of the ‘Babes, is moving out to Los Angeles — so be sure to watch this amazing band go out in style!
You’ll need to RSVP to the show, which is 21+ — don’t worry about tickets though, because the show is FREE.
While we’re sad to see the ‘Babes go, both Chris and I are glad we were able to put out their split with the Zoltars. There’s about 10 copies of this super-sweet tape left in the store, so get yours before they’re gone forever.
In Zoltars-related news, the band has a slew of new releases on a ton of rad Austin-based labels. They recently put out a 7″ on Sundae Records (which you can grab here), a cassingle with Fungal Hunger (available for purchase here) and a live tape recorded at Natrix Natrix through Voice Academy (available here). Pick them up and support Austin’s vibrant, eclectic music scene!
The Zoltars also have a few shows in the works, so if you find yourself in Austin, be sure to check them out.
